Editorial: No, the gov't is not covering up COVID-19 deaths
from Beirut-based an-Nahar:
"Even the wildest conspiracy theories cannot account for the concealment of hundreds of dead bodies in a small country like Lebanon. Hospitals would have been overrun. Every single person would know of a friend of a friend whose family had tragically suffered. News this devastating would spread on the internet, even from within the refugee camps. We can have a healthy debate about how the interim government has performed and how much credit they deserve for the lack of a deadly pandemic in Lebanon. But let's do so factually. The death toll is remarkably low. There is no massive cover up necessary. And for the first time in a long while, Lebanon finally has some good news."
